Animator for Documentary
The documentary film “Year Zero: Story of a Khmer Rouge Solider” is looking for an Illustrator/Animator to create several scenes within our movie. The overall film is to be about 1 hour in length, and total animation will be roughly 7 minutes of the film. There are about 5 scenes that will need to be animated.
The style might be described as similar to Waltz with Bashir, but darker and more impressionistic. We have an example animation for you to review.
We are non-profit and have a limited budget, but because of this we are also willing to be flexible on time and can add a tax-deductible write off in addition to payment if requested. We look forward to reviewing your work and speaking with you soon.
On Air Graphic/Motion Designer MTV Networks [Belgium]
The On Air Graphic/Motion Designer reports to the Senior Producer/On Air and Manager MTVN Productions Belgium.
As an On Air Graphic/Motion Designer, you create, design, edit and produce (audiovisual) materials to meet graphic, promotional and/or commercial needs of all MTV Networks brands TMF, MTV & Nickelodeon in a creative way.
You adapt and edit audiovisual materials according to channel and/or brand briefings and are able to translate the essence of a program into a short promotional clip that communicates the commercial and/or promotional message in a memorable and engaging way. You design and produce design, promotional and commercial material to a high creative and technical level, taking the look and feel and continuicy of the brand into account.
You are able to find creative solutions/applications to routine jobs, to take the end product to a higher level. As an On Air Graphic/Motion Designer, you follow trends and developments in your own area of expertise.
This position demands a finish ededucation preferably BMT-, AV-, Film- or Art Academy or relevant working experience, e.g. as an editor, designer or a similar creative job. This position also demands a solid knowledge of professional (motion) graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Aftereffects, SoundtrackPro/Logic Pro and Cinema 4D) and non-lineair editing software (Final cut Pro). Experience in a broadcast environment is an asset.
Language requirements: work knowledge Dutch and English is a must!

Position Character Designer – Overall Accountability
To work with the Producers and Art Director to design the show’s main and secondary characters, taking into account any previous designs, styles, directions, and guidance set down by the Producers. Ability to create compelling characters and character scene sketches which can be modeled in 3D, and which serve the goals of the production’s story.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Interface with designers, artists, and programmers.
- Utilize design experience to design characters which hit the quality bar, and vision of the Producer, Art Director, and the goals of the production.
- Self-manage and review one’s own schedule, notify production of any tasks that may be missing or improperly specified.
- Work with Art Director and Lead Character Designer to create playable, enemy, and other NPC characters.
Qualifications
- 1+ years in Character Designer role (asset, not required, any studio experience is beneficial).
- BA/BFA Degree in Fine Arts or Commercial Arts Field (asset, not necessarily required).
- Flair and interest in fashion and style, pop culture.
- A strong understanding of design and the issues inherent in creating compelling characters for a 3D CGI feature length production, worthy of a theatrical release.
- Must have strong 2-D character and creature design experience.
- Experience in multimedia content, film and television work an asset.
- 3D design and modeling experience an asset.
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills.
- Proven abilities in managing projects from concept to completion.

2D Animator Needed – Dartmouth, NS
Charlie Mac Productions is a small film production office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada who are in the process of developing a script for a flash animation series directed towards a mature audience called “Let Them Eat”.

Our second episode will have a run time of 2 minutes. The animator will be responsible for the animating, background and sound effects. We will be supplying storyboards, voiceovers and colour keys as well as character, location and prop designs.
