Part-Time Lecturer in Animation

The Department of Fine Arts in the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking candidates to teach the art production courses in Animation. Candidates will be teaching a series of courses that use both industry standard as well experimental forms of Animation to produce animated artwork. The load is one or two six-hour studios per week. Candidates must have a Master of Fine Arts degree or 5-years professional experience and experience teaching animation.

Candidates are expected to be technically proficient and accomplished artists or animators. Significant exhibition/screening record or professional production experience, as well as teaching experience at the university level is required.

Knowledge of animation techniques including DSLR stop-motion, 3D computer animation using Maya, and 2D computer animation complemented with an ability to integrate examples from the history of cinema, animation, and procedural art forms is desirable.
