As an Flash animator at Mind Candy you will be creating character animation, effects and vector illustration in Flash and Adobe Illustrator for one of our highly successful Moshi Monster products. You will need to animate Characters, UI, and backgrounds and you’ll be part of an already established and extremely talented team.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate :
Traditional animation, strong art and illustration skills,
Flash game development experience
Highly experienced in Adobe Flash
Proficient with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
Solid understanding of design and colour
Is passionate about creating fun games
Enjoys working in a team environment
Experience of working in children’s entertainment and social gaming space would be a big advantage.
Experience with 3d animation and Adobe After Effects would be advantageous but not essential.

I am a freelance animator who graduated last year from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design with a first class honours degree in Animation, and Animation for Games Design. For my final project I produced a short character-driven film animated entirely in Flash, and I have just finished a six month internship at Distorted Poetry, an independent video games company developing for iPhone. There I conceptualised character designs and assets for several different projects, as well as created loops of character animation in Flash to be used in-game.
I am proficient at using Adobe Photoshop and Flash, as well as having confident working knowledge of Premier Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, and Manga Studio.
