Shadow Animation, LLC is seeking interns for the Summer on our feature film, Hell & Back, starring Mila Kunis, Nick Swardson, Rob Riggle, Bob Odenkirk and T J Miller. We are a stop-motion animation studio best known for our work on Robot Chicken, Morel Orel, Titan Maximum and Frankenhole.

The following positions are available for Summer:

Camera & Lighting

The Camera and Lighting department is responsible for planning and executing the lighting, camera, electric and grip on each of our 14 stop-motion stages. This would be an interesting opportunity for someone who has some experience with cinematic lighting and working with electrical equipment and who is curious about setting the scene for the small stage. You will be working primarily with our Motion Control Operator, Lighting Technicians and Grips. Please specify your specific interests when responding.

Duties Include:
-Assisting with the creation of lighting equipment
-Equipment prep and organization
-Stage set-up tear-down

We need one person who can come in two to four days a week. End date to be determined.

Costumes

The Costume department is responsible for taking original drawings and creating the final, functional, clothing for our puppet actors as well as taking on any repair or modification necessary during the process of animation. You will be working directly with our On-Set Costumer. Basic knowledge of sewing is required.

Duties Include:
-Cleaning puppet costumes as they come off stage
-Cutting out costumes still needed for production
-Transferring all paper costumes to card-stock
-Typing up all costume notes – sewing instructions, dressing instructions, general notes
-Updating and maintaining costume notebooks
-Organizing all mock-up costumes and unused patterns
-Sewing practice costumes and possibly sewing regular costumes (TBD based on skill level)
-Keeping the costume office organized and clean (cleaning with costumer once a week)
-Possible crafty projects
-Possible R&D to apply to future projects (such as ways to treat fabric to prevent fuzziness and stains etc.)

We need someone who can commit to two full days (either Monday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Friday) twice a week from 10am to 6pm through the Summer. End date to be determined.

Production Management

You will work with our Production Coordinator, Producer and other members of the production staff planning and organizing during production and post-production. A good candidate should have a strong interest in pursuing a career in production, be able to show experience in related areas, have experience on Mac computers, be very organized, have a can-do, eager attitude, and above all, be a team player.

Duties Include:
-Storyboard preparation and organization
-Talent Recording Transcription
-File Management
-General office duties, such as copying, filing and organizing
-Assisting event organization
-Aiding other departments as needed

We need someone who can commit to two full days, Monday and Tuesdays, 9am to 6pm through the Summer. End date to be determined.
