The Mid-level 3D Story Artist works with other artists under the CG Supervisor as part of a team to pre-visualize CG animated television episodes given direction from Supervising and Episodic Directors.
- Under minimal supervision, use and occasionally create, digital assets including character and backgrounds to interpret a script as visualized by the Supervising and/or Episodic director.
- Provide cinematic pre-visualization of Director’s vision by completing layout of 3D animatic level sequences from start to finish using multiple elements based on scripts and input from Director(s).
- Provides other concept artists with underlays and source art created in 3D.
- Tracks shot progress through entire pre-visualization process. Archives all project files, renders, and source images.
- Completes special projects as needed or requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years experience in feature film or television production
- Extensive training in and/or strong demonstrable understanding of the principles of story-telling, art and film.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scene, shot, camera, and character composition is required.
- Modeling, lighting, texturing and animation experience strongly desired.
- Knowledge of terminology and techniques used in film, animation and visual effects including basic knowledge of photography and camera lenses.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Maya, XSI or 3Ds max required. Proficiency in other applications such as Photoshop and After Effects, as well as familiarity with digital video is highly desired.
- Ability to learn and use new software as needed.
- Ability to work under pressure as well as implement changes based on input from multiple sources.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a multi-user environment.
- Excellent organizational skills a must.

Overview of Position:
The New York based creative/Rich Media team of macys.com is currently seeking a Flash Animator to translate Online Media ads into animation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Brainstorm with designers for best animation execution
- Work closely with design manager, designers and project managers to ensure proper and on-time completion of projects.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand technologies and applications of varying degrees of complexity
Skills Summary:
- 3+ years of Flash Animation experience (including dynamic content, videos, papervision, etc.)
- Fluency in PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Flash CS4 on the Macintosh platform.
- TweenMax experience Strong attention to detail, excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
- Knowledge of After Effects is a plus Bachelor’s degree (or comparable work experience) and experience in a web-related environment is also necessary.

Facial Animator (full-time) at LAIKA
The facial animator creates the full animation of the characters’ faces, and analyzes the audio to create realistic lip sync.
Essential Job Function
- Reviews sequences independently and stays abreast of all changes in dialog and actions
- Works closely with the facial animation supervisor, the animation supervisor and the animators to create quality facial animation.
- Revises animation quickly and efficiently during daily reviews with animators and the facial animation supervisor.
- Prepares exposure sheets and quick-times for animators, and for the editorial department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1+ years experience working on a fully animated theatrically released Stop Motion and/or CG feature film a plus.
- Strong understanding of traditional animation principles.
- Ability to bring characters to life.
- Stop Motion animation experience a plus.
Clean-Up Artists/ Animators Required
ink.digital is currently recruiting clean-up artists/animators for major film production. Starting immediately. Expected duration is until end September.
Candidates must have first class life drawing skills. You will have a professional approach to your work and likely have at least an animation training at higher education level and /or professional 2D animation experience, this will probably not be your first job after graduation. You will be working to highly demanding production values and deadlines. All candidates selected for interview will be required to complete a project specific drawing test. Two references will be required.

- Determine the schedules and vacation time of group members with the associate producer
- Manage conflicts within the team if necessary
- Supervise and plan periods to remedy the animation bugs identified by testers

Training: College or University degree in game-oriented 3D animation technique combined with a project management certificate or any other equivalent training.
Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5 year experience as animator including two as team lead in animation. Experience in supervising an animation team is a great asset or any other relevant experience.
