The Lens team creatively applies cutting-edge technology to bring products like Face Lenses, World Lenses, and Snapabbles to life for the more than 175 million people using AR daily on Snapchat. This team of designers, data scientists, and product and program managers are passionate about helping Snapchatters around the globe experience the magic of AR in their everyday worlds.

You will be engaged in the development and growing lenses community by participating in partner programs designed for educational establishments, community creators, agencies etc.

What the 3D Animator will do:

• Create high quality animation for Augmented Reality.
• Bring the most innovative concepts to life and help push the boundaries of Augmented Reality.
• Rig and Animation of 3D Characters and props in Maya.
• Bring Animations into Lens Studio for development.
• Diagnose and fix problems related to animation processes.
• Support and identify animation pain points related to rigging and skinning.
• Support the development of tools that optimize animation processes.
• Develop specific requirements for character models, rigs, controls, and tools for efficient character animation.
• Collaborate with character storyboard artists, modelers, VFX artists, prototypers, and engineers.
• Creating guidelines and documentation for animation needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• A self-starter, collaborator, and team player;
• Practical experience creating 3D animation and rig in Maya;
• Ability to work under circumstances when briefing details are not clear (or frequently changing);

Minimum Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in 3D animator design
• Strong portfolio showcasing your work

Preferred Qualifications:

• After Effects knowledge will be a plus;
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently;
• Knowledge of Lens Studio will be a huge plus.
