The Mill Paris has been a member of the Technicolor Group since 2015 and now belongs to the “Technicolor Creative Studios” division, bringing together all of the group’s global studios in the “Animation”, “Film & Episodic Visual Effects” and “Advertising” activities in booming.

The internationalization of our activities places The Mill Paris studio in a dimension involving more and more exchanges with the other entities of the TCS division, located in particular in England, the United States, India and Canada.

The position is based at the head office of the Technicolor group in Paris – 4th arrondissement.

Under the direction of the CG Supervisor, the 3D Generalist will be assigned different tasks throughout the production. The 3D generalist will be responsible for creating images for integration into special effects shots for advertising.

3D Generalist Responsibilities

• Ability to work independently and integrate into a team
• Follow the advice of Supervisors and Leads and respond to their requests
• Be able to communicate clearly with the CG Supervisor, Leads and other CG artists
• Share expertise and knowledge with team members
• Listen to corrections given by Supervisors or customers
• Deliver high quality work, suited to the demands of special effects productions for advertising

• Experience in producing special effects for advertising
• Have already worked on complex plans requiring technical solutions
• Have an aesthetic understanding of advertising-related images and an eye for detail
• Good knowledge of Maya, Zbrush, and Substance Painter (Substance Designer is a plus)
• Mastery of 3D object modeling
• Understanding of UVs
• Understanding of PBR shading principles (shader programming is a plus)
• Skills in lighting and rendering photorealistic 3D images with Arnold Render
• Good level of understanding of Nuke allowing to make precomps of his plans
• Basic knowledge of animation principles related to animating objects
• Creation of effects (clouds, smoke, fires, explosions) is a plus
• Bonus: basic knowledge of Houdini is appreciated
